dirty, back away!

It was rainy today, and I did a horrifying cleaning job. Horrifying, I tell you. You see, we have poorly sealed windows. We also have blinds and room-darkening curtains in Sophie's room, and all winter we basically left them closed. Meanwhile, we ran a humidifer a lot in there.
Cut to: mildew and even some disturbing mold in spots, all over the window frames. And today, I scrubbed it off. (I told Sophie I was going to clean it, and showed her how gross it was. She said "Clean the window, paint it. Dirty, back away!" Which, basically, yeah!) So now they are not so horrifying, though really, we just need to replace the windows. Meanwhile, there is some mildew on the windows in our bedroom too, but I couldn't face all of them today. Soon, my pretties. But dudes, I am horrified. HORRIFIED. I'm going to be one of those House cases where it turns out my eyeballs are bleeding and my toes are green because I inhaled some kind of mysterious mold that only grows on poorly maintained windows in the northeast.
Oh yeah, and I stripped the diapers, too. And did data entry (not gross, just boring). Yowzer.
Rain is good for something besides causing the lake to flood forever - it also makes us productive. :)
I made this for dinner, though, and it was really good. Smitten Kitchen is my food inspiration lately, and I have not been disappointed!
