I am so productive, people.
I needed a project. Okay, so timewise, the last thing I really needed was a project, but I needed one anyway. And in this month's issue of Bust, there was a handy dandy recipe for bath bombs, which got me thinking. Internet reading and a 2 day search for citric acid later (Upper Valley Food Co-op, for the win!), I made bath bombs this afternoon! It was super fun. I made clove flavored ones and lavender-tea tree flavored ones. And I watched Buffy while I did it. And okay, so they didn't come out right - it was too humid and I made them too wet, and now they are sort of like exploded marshmallows on a cookie sheet downstairs. But I know what I did wrong, so I can try again soon. Anyone need a bath, in the meantime? I have some rapidly falling-apart melted bath bombs downstairs, and someone needs to use those puppies up.
In other productiveness, I made strawberry sorbet (thanks Margaret :)) which is currently becoming frozen in the ice cream maker downstairs. And I painted the door frames in the library, which leaves just a couple of shelves that I want to paint, and maaaaybe a touch up spot or two (okay, so realistically, a touch-up spot or two for sure). When painting, I alternate between emo and ghetto music, and it works for me. I get paint in my hair and paint on my feet and paint all over everything, but I have now nearly completed painting so I DO NOT CARE. I paint barefoot, and climb on top of bookshelves, and try not to swear too loudly when I put my elbow in the wet paint.
In addition to *that*, I went to the gym today. I am getting stronger, and sometimes for a little while during and immediately after doing the weight room, I actually look all strong and stuff. Okay, relatively, but still.
There are more to-do lists to make, but I had fun being busy today.
Ryan and I have our wedding anniversary tomorrow (6 years! Yay!) and we are spending the day in Maine. We're coming back after dinner, though, because hotels are expensive and packed this time of year and also we have the house to ourselves this weekend anyway. :) So I will see all y'all tomorrow night. Leave me some love.
