We just made awesome dinner.
Gnocchi! You bake a couple potatoes, peel and smoosh them, mix in salt and enough flour to make a dough, and make little gnocchi shapes by rolling pieces of the dough into balls and rolling them down the tines of a fork. 1 minute in boiling salted water and they're done when they float.
Meanwhile I browned thinly sliced shallots in butter (OR EARTH BALANCE AS THE CASE MAY BE, BUT I CHALLENGE YOU TO FIND IT WANTING), added fresh thyme and sage, salt, and pepper, and lemon rind and juice. Toss the gnocchi in that stuff. OMG SO GOOD
I have also apparently had a little too much wine, so you'll have to excuse me. I don't know how it happened, it was only a glass, but BAM it hit me like whoa. What is up? Did someone spike my wine with more alcohol? ADMIT IT there have just not been enough CAPS LOCKY POSTS UP IN HERE LATELY EXCEPT OH WAIT.
