So, it looks like we are buying a condo!

Nothing is ever completely certain until closing, as I have been repeatedly warned. I am not talking about this in definitive terms until it is TOTALLY DONE. However, we are under contract, the mortgage is just about set (we have a few bits and pieces of things to bring in tomorrow), and the inspection is scheduled for Thursday...so!

It was less than two weeks ago that I posted a big brain dump about What I Wanted, and how I wasn't sure. As you might imagine based on where we currently are, it has been kind of a crazy week and a half. ;) I am happy with this condo - townhouse, Ryan says it's a townhouse, but whatever ;), and I feel good about the decision. I have come to the conclusion that I will feel better living in a place we own, that we like more than this apartment (which is no one's favorite), and it isn't far from anywhere anyway, really. Also, financially...it's not as much of a strain as we thought because the condo situation is cheaper, and I do feel like it's going to be a good thing overall because of building equity and all of that.

Two weeks ago I knew absolutely zero about buying a home. I have learned a lot pretty quickly!

So, we have some things left to do and there's going to be a lot going on for a while. Please to be crossing appendages for us that there are no major hitches after this point, and I will keep you posted.

Now I should get ready for bed, because I think once Sophie wakes up to nurse I am going to have to sleep with her right away in order to get sleep tonight. (Normally she sleeps in her co-sleeper for a while, so when I say "with her" I mean with her like right up under my arm.) The poor girl...she's been trying to grow a tooth for AGES (like, months) but for the past two days her gums are really swollen and she's having a hard time with pain. This is not a fun time for any of us. Appendages crossed for GETTING A FREAKING TOOTH ALREADY while we're at it, I guess. You should just sit down for a while, you're bound to be losing your balance from all the crossing you're doing.
