Today Ryan and I found this awesome coffee shop in Charlestown. They had the best strawberry cream cheese crossaint ever, and I should have gotten another one to take home with me because I've been thinking about this thing all day long. It was that good. I want to live there. :) Too bad it's like half an hour away. But they have gardens and big hills out back, and there's a little shop next to it that I want to check out next time. There were dominoes on all the tables, so Ryan and I played - but only a little because we hadn't quite figured out how scoring worked. And um, did I mention they had really awesome strawberry cheesecake croissants? (I've just used that word like 5 times and I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right. Hmm.) It seems we find these little places - random coffee shops and the like - and I go through temporary but intense bursts of wanting to go there constantly and drink their coffee and eat their croissants. It gradually fades over time. But if I ever find one I live closer to one...beware.

We also walked all over Westerly. We checked out the grocery store (we were screening Westerly for potential living locations, just for fun) and found it lacking. But there was a great little toy store. Did you know Polly Pocket has grown exponentially - the the point where her little universe no longer fits in, say, your pocket? I didn't, but I do now! A lot of the toys I had when I was a kid were just the same though, which was weird but also cool. They had loads of Playmobil stuff, and I remembered the zoo and the castle and the farm...:)

I like Westerly. I like walking by the river, and I love the big library, and the park is beautiful (and owned by the library!!). I like the candy store with the little old man who likes to talk about truffles. Also, Westerly pizza. Mmm. I took pictures of the coffee shop and other stuff today, and I will post some of those tomorrow.

I was just saying yesterday that my journal has degenerated into "here's what I did today" posts. And what did I post today? Yeah. I need to write real things again sometime. Please kick me in the pants if I don't. And/or ask me lots of questions I can answer in a new, insightful, witty post. ;) Or something.

But I'm so thankful for posts like these because I love windows into my friends' lives, but I also love the insightful way that you relate the experiences. It all sounds so lovely.

Also, I am weirded out by the Polly Pocket, and I adored Playmobil toys.

Also, questions to answer: What's the scariest thing you've ever done? What's your favorite childhood memory? What was your wedding like?

You're very welcome. I'm glad it was helpful - I really couldn't tell when I wrote it if I'd said anything worth saying. I'm not being randomly self-depricating, I just honestly couldn't tell. I don't feel like I really know what I'm talking about yet when it comes to this whole library school thing, and I'm halfway through! Heh. :)

But yeah, I'd love to hear your thoughts about it, and if I can be clearer or answer any more questions or anything, let me know. I didn't think to ask - what sort of library work are you interested in?
