Mar. 4th, 2004 11:18 pmI went to my 2 p.m. class and instead of having an actual class, took a survey for a graduate student's thesis. The survey was on communication with my parents when I was a teenager, basically, and we got 4 extra credit points for filling it out because there is a part we have to do over spring break. That's the easiest 4 points I've ever gotten!
So with an hour to kill between classes, I went to the commuter lounge to work on things and read the school paper, since I didn't bring a book with me today. And lo and behold, my letter to the editor was in there, right next to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s letter. I've been very happy to see the piles of letters the Cigar seems to be getting over this one letter a member of the Students for Awareness of Conservatism wrote regarding gay marriage. Shockingly, his was a letter about why same-sex marriages should be banned. Quite a few people wrote rebuttals. I am momentarily impressed with people for speaking up - this is noteworthy because the URI campus is generally very apathetic about everything. Unless it involves baseball.
So I went to my 3:30 class after that, and it was weird. Everyone was all buzzy about spring break and so she had us do group work so we wouldn't zone out. Boring group work. I listened to people talk about their plans to tan and drink, and blah blah blah. My spring break starts today, since I don't have class tomorrow. My plans so far include catching up on a lot of work, getting my new knitting book, and learning to knit things. Also, painting. Also, maybe seeing a variety of people, depending on who can get here when and stuff. There will probably be no tanning, and only possibly very minimal drinking. :)
I'm tired, so for my first act of spring breakage, I am...going to bed at a reasonable hour. Whoop whoop!
