mangofandango | WE HAS THE POWER

So, after 32 hours without power, the power hath returned. It was a long 32 hours, lemme tell ya, what with the freezy cold parrots and lack of flushing toilets and so on. But, we now have electricity and all the joy that comes with it (internet access! TV! lights! showers! how I missed you all!). Allow me to celebrate dramatically for a moment, okay? :)

So, uh, let's see. In the past couple of days, I have engaged in creative means of keeping a room relatively non-freezing. Ryan boiled snow (we have a gas range) and put the pot of steaming water into a room with us, the birds, and piles of clothes and towels against the doors. I lit all the beeswax candles I had. I wore ridiculous outfits and held Petrie in my shirt. And I entertained myself by reading "Howl's Moving Castle".

Now I am bathed and warm and fed, and am catching up with internet-y goodness. NOW I am on vacation. :)
