This is Reading Week, and tomorrow is "Dress Like Your Favorite Character Day" at school. It has to be a character from a book. I have limited time (obviously) and limited clothing choices. Any ideas? I waited until the last minute and am drawing a blank!

My LMS is going as Rapunzel. She's got a wig for it. ;)

harriet the spy? her spy clothes consist of old jeans, a hooded sweatshirt, and her spy tool belt. that has a flashlight, extra pens, and a pouch for her notebook. then of course you have to have the notebook. then you can take notes on people all day long.

or... matilda? you could just dress like a little girl and carry around a ton of huge books.

that's all i can think of now. i think i'd go as harriet :)

have you ever read the Paperbag Princess? all of her clothes get burned by a dragon so she has to wear a paperbag to go save the prince. i think at an elementary school i'd reccomend wearing clothes under the paperbag, but that would be easy to make.

i'm really jealous and wish my school did this

You are full of great ideas! I would love to go as Harriet, but I'll have to see if I can make it work (I need to figure out some sort of makeshift spy belt thingy and see if I can make it work with a light blue hooded sweatshirt instead of red, since I don't have a red one. Hmm.) If I can't swing Harriet, the Paperbag Princess is a great idea, and I can definitely pull that one off. ;)

Thank you so much! If you have any other great ideas, let me know. :)

Do you have access to many caps? You could be the "Caps for Sale" guy!! Man, I loved that book. Bonus points if you could find a stuffed monkey to go with it.

YOu know, I didn't think I had a bunch of caps...but it turns out, I have like 4 that would work! And I have a few Beanie Baby monkeys. So I'm pinning those together now to see how it looks. Weighing my options. ;) Thank you so much! :)

Awesome!! That is really fun. :) Did that guy have a mustache? Mustaches on girls are fun.
(I just looked it up. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0064431436/102-4794148-9296158?v=glance&n=283155) he totally did. A big handlebar mustache. I think you could have some fun with that... or maybe that's just me. :))
