So. My hair is long enough to donate. It gets messy, it sheds everywhere, it gets in my face and interferes in proper cuddling, and I obsess over the split ends like a crazy person. It is, however, quite long and if I want to I can do things with it. Sometimes, it is pretty, and I can curl it every now and then when it is in the mood for that sort of thing, and y'know, long hair is One of Those Things.

I have two debates before me: the first is To Cut Or Not To Cut. The second is, if I cut it, do I go with a bob sort of deal, or a pixie sort of deal?

If I ask the real people in my actual life, here is what happens. Girls get all droopy at the idea of my cutting off All That Lovely Long Hair, almost universally. My mother would probably cry. Boys in my life are completely non-committal when asked what they think, except I think it is apparent that they are not really attached to the long hair like the ladies are.

Points to consider: Donating my hair is a Good Thing and all that. My hair grows relatively fast, I think, which is also good. On the other hand, I really like to have my hair played with and brushed - like, really a lot, there are scalpgasms - and no one plays with short hair.

I tend to hide behind my long hair. Without it maybe I will either be braver, or I will blush more. Or both. :)

i know sometimes they won't take hair that was dyed with scary chemical dyes, but do they care if you used henna or whatever??

either way, you should have katie holmes bob-style hair. i think it is quite cute- without the bangs she just recently added i think.:) then it will still be long enough to be played with and such, but shorter and less in your face.

It seems they do not mind dye as long as the hair is not severely damaged, so I think I'm good.

Katie Holmes is very cute, but she is also Katie Holmes. Still, not the worst person in the world to emulate, in terms of hair, anyway. :)

Your hair is gorgeous, and so are you, and that said, I've never been a fan of long hair, period, and short hair looks better on almost anyone--especially you, based on those pics. I say chop it short!
