Sophie and I were about 1 minute from being on the block where this happened when it happened. I mean, I saw the traffic backed up, so I parked two blocks from where we were going and we walked there, and meanwhile the firetrucks started arriving. I had been really trying to get there sooner, too, but now I am grateful for my dawdley 3 year old for keeping us from getting there any faster!
I haven't posted since my child became a 3 year old, have I? Good lord. Sophie is 3 and her birthday was great and she is super awesome. I intended to Write A Post about her birthday and her Herness around that time, but...that ship sailed, for the moment anyway. I did update her baby blog, which really maybe needs to be called something else now maybe huh? baby.freebern.org. Here is a photo of her because it is the sweetness:

(We went to Shelburne Farms the other day, for the first time, with her friend Lucca. The overalls! At a farm! She pretended to sell vegetables at a farmer's market! Then she pretended to buy them from herself. :))
So, humorously...I just had a small panic because I forgot to ask Sophie to pee before she went to bed. Parenting: occasionally panicking slightly about someone else's pee! She will not wet the bed or even her training pants, though - what she will do is toss and turn for an hour because she needs to pee and then get very upset when she actually decides to wake up enough to realize that she needs to actually sit on the potty and take care of the situation. I'm telling you, it's a thing. Dammit, Sarah, remember to prompt the bedtime pee! :P
I think maybe I need to go to bed now. Maybe with a teeny potty in the bedroom, for the inevitable. Nighty night!
