I have been sick - not with the random afflictions of pregnancy but with an actual cold, for a couple days now. I had intended to be better today by sheer force of will, but it turns out my will is apparently not strong enough. I had to miss my last day of baby bouncing because I didn't want to infect the babies. I have used my sitting-around-sick time to accomplish some baby-related things, though - I snagged stuff for very cheap on craigslist yesterday, got a decent deal on one expensive item we really wanted, and spent what could be considered an insane amount of time reading about cloth diapers. I mean really, people, SWEET JEEBUS. Hours later though, I have some new wisdom and some new things to add to my baby wishlist (which yes, i will share eventually. :))
I have also been reading about things like President Obama overturning the global gag rule, taking steps toward closing Guantanamo Bay, and making torture illegal again. It's a little bit strange that these things seem pretty amazing to me. But you know, most of my time spent being politically aware was spent under Bush, and I think it's going to take a while to get used to feeling good about presidential decision making. It's a nice thing to have to get used to. :)
