Aug. 30th, 2007 06:15 pmHey kids! The power is going on and off a lot due to the big scary thunderstorm going on outside. I am sitting here in a t-shirt eating blueberries, taking deep breaths of relief - because today was the first day of school, and I made it! :)
It was actually a pretty gentle re-entry. I only had one full class today, and then a few classes came just to exchange books. It was actually really quiet a lot of the time. I covered books, I futzed around with the 87 extension cords currently getting power to our computer while I wait on electrical work, and I planned. At the end of the day, a billion kids with books to return appeared out of nowhere and bombarded me with questions and hugs and book requests, and that was actually the most work I probably did all day! I didn't realize, but I actually really missed the kids, and it was fun seeing them again.
And I don't work Fridays, so that's it for my first week of school. :)
Now I want to go call my booty-shaking buddy Kimberly, who left me a music-only (almost) voicemail that made me dance all over the car on the way home. And then I will hide from the lightning until it goes away. Sound good?
