Not that these are necessarily the best sources for info on this issue, I just happened to stumble across those today and I thought I'd pass them along, for those who aren't aware of the whole diamond issue. I've known about it for a while, and felt lucky that I never really liked them anyway. If you do have one already, I'm not saying you should throw it out or do penance or anything - that wouldn't do anybody any good, anyway! What I am suggesting is, next time, choose some other stone (though there are mining issues for many naturally occuring stones, diamonds are the most notorious), or go vintage/otherwise "recycled".
So ends my PSA for today.
