I would just like to tell the world that I bought shoes today.

Now. I am not your average shoe-shopper. I *hate* shopping for shoes. I walked into the shoe store and felt mostly lost and somewhat frightened. Buying shoes is not easy. Shopping for shoes is much like shopping for bras. You can try them on, and do your best to wiggle all around in them, and walk back and forth (or jump up and down, or bend over, or whatever), but when it comes down to it you just have to take the damn things home and wait a day or two. Sometimes, you get lucky and they really are as comfortable as they seemed like they were when you bought them. Sometimes, blisters and pain (or, in the case of bras, just...discomfort and/or shiftiness).

So far, no blisters. Although I think they might happen, because they rub my heel some. But I'm hoping that they will be better when broken in. They are Earth shoes, and they have what the shoe lady called a "negative heel", which is supposed to be good for my back. They feel weird, but potentially comfortable. They were also 50% off! And now I can throw away my sad, ratty sneakers with holes in them.

Of course, being shoe-phobic, I still need some form of boots for winter and some sort of shoe-I-can-wear-with-skirts-and-stuff (for those rare winter occasions when that is an issue), but I got the important every-day-wear pair out of the way today and I am proud.

I think that is the most I have ever talked about shoes in my life. Maybe.

Now I am going to go watch Saturday Night Live and pretend I don't (still) have homework to do. (I promise, I will finish the homework tomorrow.)
