what differentiates us from Roombas

GOODNESS GRACIOUS. SO AWESOMELY CREEPY. Oh my god.

Okay, so as we're watching season 2, I am finding it richer and more interesting for having seen Epitaph One. Which makes me feel sad that most people won't be seeing Epitaph One, because, really, everything else is sort of informed by or colored by it. The remote wipe that Topher tried to do tonight is the precursor to the "they can get anyone" technology of Epitaph One's future. Last week, Topher himself - The Almighty Topher, God himself, admitted to overstepping by fucking around making changes "on a glandular level". In the first episode, Topher and Dr. Saunders' discussion made me think of E.O's Topher, because there were tiny echoes there. (Amy Freaking Acker, by the way, was awesome in that episode. Plus, the Dr. Saunders storyline - I like it because it teases out, a bit, some of the central ideas and questions behind the whole series. Her whole thing about identifying as this fake person, and whether that's legitimate, whether it's any different from a "real" person's constructed personality - does it depend on who does the constructing? Etc. etc.)

Anyway. Too bad about the loss of Epitaph One for TV, although I see how the mass market might have gotten confused or something OMG. I know it's just too much to ask of the viewing public to make an effort, to have to think or pay attention when watching television, but I will probably never stop being bitter about it. (This as "Dollhouse" ratings tank, by the way.)

In real life news...well. Have you ever made the "sssh" sound for so long, repeated so many times, that it stopped making sense in the same way that a word starts to if you repeat it over and over?

I have. Actually, several times in the past few days.

Sophie is, however, quite delightful when she manages to not be crying and crying. (Because I realized I've never said here: I cut dairy out of my diet and that seems to have helped. But still there is colic, and possibly teething or reflux. So yeah.) She enjoys eating her fist, arching her back, being naked, leaning as if she might roll over, and staring at lights and windows.

I have seriously been trying to write an LJ post for like...two weeks. If I had had time, I am sure you would hae been fascinated by what I posted. ;) But so many times, I had something half-written in this box for several days and then just deleted it because it was so old, and now, here we are. I catch up with TV and baby news, of sorts. Sorry. ;)

Aw, poor Sophie. I was a colic-y baby too.

Glad to see you posting!

Ah, dietary tweaks. I cut out dairy and broccoli and cauliflower. Oddly enough those two helped a lot for me, too.
