on the LJ breastfeeding drama

Just 'cause Ryan posted about it today...

I'm sure all y'all know about the whole LJ breastfeeding icon thing. LJ has suspended some users for refusing to change their default userpic, which depicted breastfeeding, which LJ claims goes against their obscenity rules. Many people are deleting their accounts because of this. Now I think LJ's policy here royally sucks, but I won't be leaving over it - I think I'm doing too much good here on [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and other comms, plus I have a lot of friends here and love my journal and really, deleting my permanent account (which is already paid for) would only be punishing myself.

However, I will send an email to Six Apart/LJ and complain, and you should too: feedback@livejournal.com. K?

That's awsome. I've not seen any of the drama first hand, only heard about it.

I thought it was just this odd American phobia of breasts and breastfeeding but I guess not. I wonder why? It seems so...weirdly alienating.

Hi! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you - I'm moving and life has been very busy lately.

My layout I did myself, based on a tutorial by [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. I believe the tutorial is linked in her journal and also in her memories. As for the mood icons, there's a link in my userinfo to those (if you go there, it'll tell you how to download and install them).
